David Byrne - Like Humans Do

docshoe:

Doc Shoe is Stoned Again

This record.  This fucking record.  What you have to understand is, Brian Eno was practically a member of the Talking Heads during those early years.  By the time they were making Remain In Light, he and David Byrne left the band behind and went off on their own tangent together, recording an indescribably beautiful Post-Punk masterpiece called My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts.  This track incorporates all kinds of crazy sounds worked into a groove, most prominently the sampling of a sermonizing radio evangelist.  It’s the crazy gospel which convinced the rest of Talking Heads to reject Eno and demand Byrne to choose: Eno, or the band, but not both.  I kinda wished had Byrne chose Eno instead, and made more records like this.
